Using Your OKI Products
We want you to enjoy using products purchased from OKI Direct | Printers, Toners & Consumables throughout their working life. Please follow the steps below in order to ensure that no problems arise during installation.
Installation
- Unpack the item carefully, ensuring that all the items such as manuals, CDs and cables which should be shipped with the device are present - there is often a packing list supplied by the manufacturer. In the event that any items are missing, please call us on 0800 170 1415. Don't forget when ordering that many products such as printers, scanners etc, do not always come with a cable to connect them to your PC, so make sure that you order the correct cable for your device. If in doubt, call us on 0800 170 1415 for advice.
- Retain all packing materials, including the product's box, foam spacers etc., until you have successfully installed the device and are happy that it is working correctly.
- Prior to commencing installation, please read carefully the installation instructions supplied with the product. This may take the form of a "Quick Start Guide", but if not, full instructions will be found in the User Manual. Ensure that you make all the necessary connections with the power to the PC and the new device turned off. Damage caused by attempting to install with the power on will invalidate your warranty.
- In some circumstances, you may find that you require a special driver (a software program required to enable your device to work correctly with your computer's operating system). If so, these are invariably available for download from the device manufacturer's web site. Look for a page entitled "Support and Downloads" or something similar, locate the correct driver for your device and operating system, and follow the instructions to download and install the driver. You will probably have to restart your PC for the new driver to operate.
- If you encounter any difficulty in installing your new device, consult your User Manual or the manufacturer's web site for assistance. You will find troubleshooting instructions in the User Manual or on the web site. Following these will eliminate most common problems. If you are unable to resolve a problem by this method, contact the manufacturer's support service for assistance. At OKI Direct | Printers, Toners & Consumables, we sell so many different items from different manufacturers, that it would be impossible for us to know everything about all of them, whereas the manufacturer will have specialist technicians who understand their products in detail.
On-going Use
Once you have successfully installed your device, we are confident that it will continue to function correctly throughout its life. If you do experience a problem, however, please follow these steps.
- Consult the User Manual's Troubleshooting Guide. This will typically resolve most common problems.
- Visit the manufacturer's web site. There may be a more comprehensive Troubleshooting Guide available on the web site.
- 3.If you are unable to resolve the problem, contact the manufacturer's support service. Detail of how to obtain support will be contained in the User Manual or on the web site.
- 4.If the problem is diagnosed as a hardware fault in the device, check the warranty terms and conditions to ensure that it is still covered under warranty. If so, please return the product to us for repair or replacement, using our returns procedure, as follows.
Warranty Returns
Please call our Customer Service team on 0800 170 1415 and request a Returns Authorisation Number. You will be asked to quote our invoice number relating to the item's purchase and a reason for the return, which in this case will be "Failure within Warranty".
You will be given instructions as to how to return the product, which once we have verified the validity of the claim, will be replaced or repaired at our discretion. OKI Direct | Printers, Toners & Consumables will not be held liable for any consequential loss resulting from the loss of data in the evant of failure of any product supplied by us (this does not affect your statutory rights).
